Team training and structure rebalance

Train the team for the work they do and review whether roles, staffing and supervision fit the operation.

Who this is for

Kitchen, restaurant and catering teams with uneven workloads, unclear responsibilities or gaps in skills. This is also relevant when a new menu or service model changes the work.

What we work on

We review who does what across purchasing, stores, kitchen production and dispatch. The review considers station demands, shift coverage, reporting lines and handovers, including work that is duplicated or left without an owner.

Training follows the needs of the team. It can cover recipes, receiving checks, stock routines and operating systems. Food safety training can include personal hygiene, allergen awareness and the standard operating procedures staff use in their roles. Demonstrations and supervised practice give managers a way to check how staff apply the training during work.

What we need from you

We review the current team structure, role descriptions, schedules, production volumes and operating standards with the people supervising the work.

The employer makes staffing and employment decisions. We agree the training sessions, supervision and follow-up included in the assignment. Any required accredited training or recognised certificates are scoped separately with the appropriate provider.

Before we start

Does structure rebalance mean cutting staff?

No. We review whether the team fits the work. The answer may involve different responsibilities, shifts, supervision, training or additional staff.

Can training support a new menu or system?

Yes. We can prepare the team to use new recipes, costing routines, procedures or databases as part of the rollout.

How do you check whether training is working?

We agree the tasks staff need to perform, then observe them applying the standards. Managers receive notes on progress and any further practice needed.
